BALLView on MS Wissenschaft 2011
This summer, within the context of this science year's subject "Research for our health", the ship MS Wissenschaft will cruise on German rivers. BALLView, our tool for modelling and visualising medically relevant molecules, developed by Bioinformaticians of both the Saarland University and the Eberhard-Karls-University Tübingen will also be on board.

A new publication on BALL has just been published by BMC Bioinformatics.
BALL and BALLView packages in Ubuntu 10.04 and the upcoming Debian Squeeze
The BALL project's latest version 1.3.2 is included in Unbuntu (10.04), and will be included in the upcoming debian release (squeeze). In order to use BALLView, it is sufficient to install the 'ballview' package. For developing programs the packages "libball1.3-dev" and "libballview1.3-dev" are needed.

OpenMol, a project of Helmut Prendinger's group in Tokyo, builds on BALLView to bring molecular structures to virtual worlds.

Release 1.3 of BALL and BALLView
We are pleased to announce the release 1.3 of our molecular modeling and visualization packages BALL and BALLView. Release 1.3 marks a considerable milestone for BALL and BALLView due to numerous changes to the visualization architecture and cross platform support. It now features ~700,000 lines of code and ~ 730 classes.

On ISMB/ECCB 2009 in Stockholm the BALLView team presented some of the raytracing capabilities which are currently scheduled for inclusion.
BALLView-VR Multitouch Setup Demonstration
On the BMBF Foresight meeting the new Virtual Reality setup for BALLView was presented.
BALL and BALLView 1.3 beta 2 released
This release fixes a number of bugs reported in the first beta for BALL/BALLView 1.3 and will hopefully be the last stage in the development cycle before 1.3 final.
